Coming to an ATM Near You: Jogja thief possibly hiding in Bali

A thief who reportedly stole Rp 1.3 billion off an ATM card is believed be hiding in Bali, according to SINDOnews

Two out of the three thieves involved in the score have allegedly been arrested. Only the initials and not the names have been released: GN, 38, a resident of Jogja’s neighboring city Klaten, Central Java and MR, 36, a cattle trader also living in Klaten. Other than in Bali, the search for the remaining thief is also on in Surabaya.

Police confiscated a 2010 Daihatsu Terios, along with a black Yamaha Vixion motorcycle and an advance purchase receipt of a Honda Jazz, worth Rp 160 million.

Police are working with CCTV footage from the ATM to find the third offender, who they allege appears clearly in the video. For now, the identity of the bank customer is under wraps—understandably, we’d wouldn’t want the world to know we had over 1 billion rupiah skimmed from our account!
