Uh Oh: Bali Schoolies bookings spike up a whopping ‘23%’

The Schoolies can’t contain themselves. Literally, they cannot stay on Oz’s Gold Coast.

The number of young rambunctious Aussies headed for Bali to celebrate after they finish their high school exams has dramatically spiked up, sources say. Ruh-oh. Better stay out of Kuta in about a month. The main Schoolies period starts from November 22, but some programming goes into early December, according to the official website.

Traditionally, Schoolies hit the Gold Coast (kind of how spring breakers gravitate towards Miami), but more and more are favoring overseas destinations.

“We have seen the most growth in schoolies heading to overseas destinations with Fiji seeing the most growth at 58% up on last year and Bali bookings up 23% on last year,” said Andrea Robinson, STA Travel Australia product and marketing director, as quoted by the Courier Mail.

We realize there are some “culture-loving” youth that might want to learn about the local customs and language, but really, watch this Schoolies video and you’ll see there’s one thing on these kiddos’ minds: PARTAY.
