Reports of a fire taking Clear Cafe ablaze have been confirmed by Tribun Bali.
At approximately 9:30 am, a resident of Padang Tegal Kelurahan, Ubud was shocked by cries for help. The sounds apparently came from the burning of Clear Cafe, which reportedly burned very quickly because of its highly flammable thatched building material. Tribun speculates that the fire was extinguished at approximately 11:30am, but officials and residents have been continuing to hose it and make sure the fire is put out completely.
Employees and people from surrounding businesses trickled out into the street in a panic, some even breaking glass to save valuables, reports Tribun.
“I could not save my own bags,” said Clear Cafe cook Putu, as quoted by Tribun. We’re sure though that the last thing people were worried about was their stuff during this fire. So far, there have been no reported fatalities or injuries from today’s fire.
Not surprisingly, traffic in the area was reportedly totally gridlocked since the fire.
