Westin Resort Nusa Dua: Golkar still hasn’t confirmed booking for its National Congress, so nothing prepped for them at hotel

Management from the Westin Resort Nusa Dua say they have not yet received a booking confirmation from the Golkar Party on its pending National Congress this weekend, according to Tribun Bali

The Golkar Party has been all over Indonesian headlines this week as it bickers over whether or not it will hold its National Congress in Bali. The Congress is scheduled from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 so the party can pick its chairman, but internal riffs that have already turned violent have gone down over incumbent chairman Aburizal Bakrie’s interest in running for another term, reports Jakarta Globe

Daniela, Assistant Communication Manager of the Westin Resort Bali told Tribun that Golkar contacted the resort by phone “some time ago” but now, just two days before the supposed conference, the hotel doesn’t have a booking confirmation. The room needs to be confirmed, Daniela says. In events like these, organizers usually confirm a month or so prior to the event and the prospective client must usually pay the deposit two weeks before, according to Tribun.

Because of this confusion, the Westin has not made the appropriate preparations for the national meeting room or any other facilities, explained Daniela.
