Bali 9 death row inmate Andrew Chan begs for your prayers and signatures

Faced with the rough message from Indonesia’s attorney general that he is to die alongside fellow Bali Niner Myuran Sukumaran, Andrew Chan is desperate to stop the clock counting down to his impending execution.

Though the Kerobokan Prison death row inmate has not formally had his plea for clemency rejected like Sukumaran did, Chan knows things are not looking good with Attorney General H. M. Prasetyo saying that the Bali Nine pair will be executed together

With the announcement that six drug trafficking death row inmates will be executed this Sunday, a message from Chan was posted on a Facebook group of his supporters, “Friends of Andrew Chan.” In it, he urges people to pray that Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Australian PM Tony Abbott will have a change of heart:

He also shared a link to a campaign to push for his and Sukumaran’s lives to be saved, encouraging people to sign a petition:

Chan and Sukumaran were convicted back in 2006 for attempting to smuggle 8.3 kilograms of heroin out of Bali. The two have captured hearts with their rehabilitation stories with Sukumaran’s work in Kerobokan Prison’s art program and Chan’s interest in his religion and dreams of teaching hospitality classes.
