Bali can expect another big name chef to grace its presence soon with Sydney’s A-list restauranteur Maurice Terzini eyeing the Island of the Gods for his next expansion.

Terzini, known especially for his Icebergs Dining Room and Bar on Bondi Beach, will set up shop in Kerobokan for a new branch of his wildly successful Da Orazio Pizza and Porchetta in Bondi, according to the Daily Telegraph.

However, the Bali version will have a wider menu. “We are just calling it Da Orazio because we want to be able to keep the menu open to all types of food,” Terzini said, as quoted by the Daily Telegraph. “It will open this year.”

Da Orazio is actually Terzini’s Bali “plan B,” as plan A, which was to do Icebergs Beach Club, partnering with Sent-osa Worldwide Resorts is on hold for the moment.

Apparently Terzini has already got Italian design star Carl Pickering to work out the architecture for his Bali site. Pickering did Iceberg’s decor and has working experience with designers Fendi and Burberry.

From the sounds of it, seems like Terzini will be spending much more time at his Bali location as the launch is under way. “I’ve been coming to Bali for three decades and it feels the right time to be able to spend a little more time there, especially with my youngest son, Cez, so young,” Terzini said.
