Photos circulate of apparent fire at Balangan Beach

Balangan Beach on Bali’s Bukit Peninusla seems to be the site of a blazing fire this evening. 

Photos circulating on Facebook show the chain of warungs lining the beachfront appear to have caught fire. 
 

This pic posted to the Bali Expats Facebook group appears to be taken from up the hill of the beach, overlooking the row of cafes.

We are standing by for more updates to confirm the fire’s time, location, cause, and damage. People have written on the Bali Expats Facebook thread that there were no injuries. We’re hoping that’s true and waiting for official statements.

It is raining in Bukit at the moment, so we’re crossing our fingers that will help contain the fire’s damage. 
 

This photo was taken coincidentally at Balangan Beach earlier today by Coconuts Bali. The fire seems to have struck the buildings to the left, just out of this frame.
