An image of a boss guitar-playing lizard has taken the internet by storm, but concerned netizens smell a conspiracy.
The forest dragon lizard photographed by Aditnya Permana in Yogyakarta appears so chill, just strumming his leaf like it ain’t no thang. His coolness has drawn a number of Slash and Jimi Hendrix comparisons, and we wish we could see this cute guy jam in real life.
But would a real living breathing lizard really assume such a rocking position? Scores of netizens are saying “no way in hell” and are calling Permana a reptile murderer.
Here are some comments accusing Permana of posing the shot on the Daily Mail‘s original post about the lizard guitarist:
The Daily Mail quoted Permana as saying that the lizard felt so at ease in his presence that it eventually posed in this leaf-strumming position: “I did not directly photograph the lizard at first, until the lizards feel calm and comfortable around me.”
But was the lizard so calm and comfortable because it was already dead? Or drugged?
‘”I noticed it looked like it was playing a guitar – and it didn’t move at all,” Permana had said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Take one last look at him. He’s alive with the spirit of rock… even if he’s actually dead and his corpse was posed. RIP Lizard Van Scalen if you are no longer with us.
