15 Canadians and Americans deported from Bali for illegal photo shoot

A group of 15 foreigners got kicked out of Bali when immigration caught them carrying out an illegal photo shoot operation.

No, not the pornographic kind of “photo shoot.” Illegal because the 15 foreigners had been on visa on arrivals and were allegedly abusing these visas and working, reports Tribun Bali

Head of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, Mohamed Soleh, said that the 11 Americans and four Canadians were doing a photo shoot for the “Bali Paradise Challenge,” which from their website, appears to be some sort of photo contest/tourism group trip.

After monitoring the group in a three day undercover operation starting April 8, immigration reportedly conducted their inspection at the Canggu villa where the group was staying and found 15 foreigners involved in the photo shoots who had been using visa on arrival, reports the Jakarta Post

“They divided their respective roles into managing organizer, sales & marketing, makeup/cosmetics, lighting, media sales, and models,” Soleh said.

“They had been deliberately doing an activity that was not appropriate with their visa permit,” he added, as quoted by the Jakarta Post.

The first round of deportations happened on Monday, followed by another on Tuesday, three are scheduled for today, while the remaining are currently being processed, according to reports.
