Bali police going after gamblers in new 21 day operation

Bali gamblers best not test their luck for the next several weeks, since police are going after those who love judi just a little too much.

The targeted operation all combat the rampant illegal gambling in the region, said Bali Police Chief Ronny Sompie in a press conference on Friday.

“All forms and types of gambling will the the target or targets of Operation Balak Agung 2015,” Sompie said, as quoted by Kompas

The operation will run for three weeks, starting from April 22, 2015 and is reportedly expected to reduce gambling practices in the region.

Most gambling in Bali is done in private, so police say they’ve had a hard time tracking down illicit gamblers.

Police are doing everything they can to curb both modern and traditional gambling despite challenges of limited data, Sompie told the press.
