An earthquake with a magnitude of eight along with potential tsunami were announced for the Benoa area today—but relax, it was just a preparedness drill.
The Denpasar unit of the Body of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) held a simulation on Friday to put its disaster management skills to the test, reports Tribun Bali.
You just never know when disaster will strike, so we’re always relieved to hear of proactive, organized procedures such as this in Bali.
Coordinating the drill with BMKG was also the entire Bali Board of the Indonesian Red Cross, along with the regional boards of the West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara Red Cross offices.
