Angeline’s body found dead and buried in backyard

Angeline, the eight year old girl from Sanur whose disappearance has captured the hearts and minds of many over the last three weeks, was tragically found dead and buried in her backyard, reportedly behind chicken cages and under a pile of trash, reported Tribun Bali.

According to Tribun Bali, police has evacuated her body to Sanglah Hospital, where an autopsy is currently being conducted. Police reportedly told Tribun Bali that they will provide further explanations when the forensic results become available and are beginning investigations into who may be responsible for her death. Kompas reported that all of the residents living in the property have been taken to the police station at Denpasar for questioning.

According to Kompas, a team member in the police search party smelt something “going-off” and began digging around where the smell was coming from. A plastic bag with Angeline’s body was reportedly found – along with a small doll and a plastic string (though police told Kompas they are unsure of what the string signifies).

Kompas reported that discovery and evacuation of Angeline’s body sparked emotional reactions from neighboring locals. Comments to the Facebook Group that Angeline’s adopted family created to help the search efforts have also been pouring in since this tragic news broke out, asking the family to explain why she was found dead and buried in her own backyard.

We will keep you updated on this tragic news as more information becomes available.
