Aceh man arrested for bringing 109.63 grams of meth to Bali

A man from Aceh has been arrested for bringing in a haul of meth to Bali.

Identified as Az, the 28-year-old has admitted to bringing in the 109.63 grams of meth for further distribution in Denpasar, Tribun Bali reports.

The man said from the office of Denpasar Narcotics Police on Thursday that he had traveled to Bali by road without stopping anywhere and had been due to meet his friend in Denpasar to hand over the meth.

“I was going to sell it in the city of Denpasar. I got the stuff from my place, Aceh,” the unemployed man told the press.

However, he was apparently arrested before he could do so and so was unable to collect his Rp 10 million for delivering the drugs. Reports were not clear how police caught Az red-handed.

“It was my first time couriering to Bali. I could get around Rp 10 million for sending the drugs. It’s only my first time,” Az insisted. (Though isn’t that what they all say?)

In addition to arresting Az, Denpasar Police’s drug unit also managed to arrest five other drug suspects, identified as Mb, 29, Zul, 39, JA, 39, Sh, 43, and Za, 18.
