SID drummer Jerinx dresses up as clown to spread anti-bullying message

Jerinx, the tough guy drummer from Bali’s most famous punk band Superman is Dead did some clowning around this weekend—for a good cause.

The clown costume was for the anti-bullying event Stand Up Speak Up, Stop Bullying Now! at coworking space Rumah Sanur on Sunday afternoon initiated by the Internaskleng Community (INK) 13.

Activities included dancing, a coloring contest, poetry, and singing to raise awareness for children with special needs, in particularly for autism.

“The message to stop bullying is actually more broadly not only for children with autism, but also for other disabilities young people may have that are considered not to have abilities and potential,” the SID drummer told Tribun Bali.

“Here we want to change the mindset of young people in Bali to have the courage to get out of their comfort zones,” he added. That’s what we’re talking about!

But this isn’t the first good cause we’ve seen Jerinx publicly working on. Other than his business in music and tattoos, Jerinx has been known for his activism, particularly with Tolak Reklamasi, the protest movement against the pending land reclamation in Benoa Bay.
