This awesome image of a surfer in Bali with the merah-putih is a great example of Indonesians standing up in the face of terror

The extremists may want us to cower in fear and paranoia after attacks like yesterday’s blasts and gunfire in central Jakarta, but Indonesians are standing up (some on surfboards) to demonstrate that they are not shaken.

A photo tagged in Legian that was posted today by Facebook user ‘Tommy Kevy’ is quickly getting likes and shares. The photo shows the Indonesian man triumphantly surfing while holidng up the national merah-putih (red and white) flag.

Kevy writes, “Never give up, always stand up,” echoing the trending social media tag #kamitidaktakut (meaning, ‘we are not afraid’) that Indonesians are using to show they will not be intimidated in the face of violence.

Never give up, always stand up.. We love Indonesia ever, and ever and ever for forever,,…
