North Bali Police ensnare accused drug dealer and users in trafficking operation

In addition to cracking down on illegal street racing, Buleleng Police also seem to be on top of drug crime in the northern regency.

Five drug suspects were arrested in the Seririt and Gerokgak districts in “Operasi Antik,” targeting drug trafficking.

“We caught five perpetrators in total, all from the Western region of Buleleng,” Head of Buleleng Police’s Narcotics Investigation Unit, Chief Made Agus Dwi Wirawan said in Singarja on Thursday, as quoted by Antara Bali

Of the five arrested, was man was an alleged dealer, apparently has priors, and was caught with 0.09 grams of meth. Identified in Antara’s report as Luh Hanny Nove, 33, the suspected dealer would often conduct transactions in a cemetery, Wirawan explained.

In addition, four drug users were caught between two different locations during the operation. The four were listed as Komang Suarta, 40, Putu Dedik Eka Cipta, 29, Yudin Sasmita, 31, and Gede Sukarela, 41.

Wirawan says police are deepening their investigations against the five suspects as they work their way through the drug network.
