It’s been hot as heck down in the south of Bali this week, but conditions have been much more turbulent up in Jembrana, West Bali.
An amateur video was posted to YouTube by Tribun Bali of a funnel cloud in the Bali Strait—the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing point between East Java and West Bali.
Torrential rains accompanied by strong winds got the tornado whirling and caused dozens of ferries to stop operating and the flow of shipping paused for almost half an hour on Wednesday, according to Tribun.
The duration of the tornado was somewhere from 6 to 6:30 pm, reports said. Thankfully it seems sufficient safety measures were taken at the strait and no local reports have so far emerged of any deaths or injuries from the storm.
