Special Bali Police team formed to hunt killer of police officer found slain at Kuta Beach

Bali Police have formed a special team to track down the killer of Kuta Police officer I Wayan Sudarsa who was found dead on the beach yesterday morning with severe head injuries.

Bali Police Chief Insp. Gen. Sugeng Priyanto says there’s not much evidence and so far, just three witnesses have been examined.

Sudarsa’s body was found early in the morning on Wednesday on Kuta Beach in front of Pullman Hotel, still wearing his police uniform, with some of his belongings scattered around his body. Broken beer bottles, allegedly used to beat Sudarsa, were also found at the scene.

“So far, there are only three witnesses that were interviewed. Two people from the hotel’s security team and one pecalang (traditional Balinese security),” Priyanto said on Thursday, as quoted by Sindo News

One witness allegedly claims to have seen the police officer with a bule (caucasian) woman before the incident.

The fallen cop’s body had a number of bruises and abrasions. Tribun Bali reports that 39 wounds were found on Sudarsa’s body, including his head, face, and arms, according to head of Sanglah Hospital forensics, Dr. Dudut Rustyadi.
