Plans in the works to develop private jet airport in North Bali, as well as yacht port

Developing reports on the proposed airport for North Bali are now saying this won’t be just any old airport.

The airport planned for Gerokgak, Buleleng will reportedly cater to deep-pocketed clients, servicing private jets.

But that’s not even all. The airport’s two big investors, PT Baruna and Sakai Singapore, not only plan to expand the airport, but to also build other supporting facilities such as hotels, restaurants, a yacht port, and so on. Investors will apparently require a land area of 656 hectares: Zone A in Pejarakan and Zones B and C in the village of Bumberkima. Both of these villages are located in Gerokgak, Buleleng.

Most of the land used for the project is residential and 3,335 people will be relocated because of the project that’s after the ‘panoramic view of white sandy beaches’ and a quiet gulf, Tribun Bali reports.

An MoU was signed between investors on Tuesday, according to the local newspaper.

Investors claim they are working with traditional village leadership to socialize the project and ensure that they will employ a minimum of 70 percent of villagers.
