Another tree falls in Denpasar, Bali governor warns residents to keep out from under trees

The rain’s been coming down hard this week in Bali and it seems like the trees are coming down with it.

After a tree fell in Sesetan, injuring three and killing one toddler, another tree has fallen on Jl. Hayam Wuruk, Denpasar, hitting a fashion store on Monday afternoon.

Don’t underestimate the force of a falling tree—the front of the store and the roof apparently nearly collapsed.

“There was no wind then at all, it just suddenly fell. I screamed in shock,” Kadek Suartini, an employee at the store, told Tribun Bali

A picture of the fallen tree, posted to Instagram.

Meanwhile, these dramatic tree falling incidents, Bali’s governor Made Mangku Pastika has spoken on the matter, warning Balinese people to exercise caution.

“Be careful, do not sit or park under a tree,” Tribun quoted Pastika as saying on Monday.

He also added that people in Bali should try not to get caught in the rain, to avoid getting struck by lightning or falling trees.
