Rp 117 million reportedly pried out of Bali ATM

Apparently not everyone is tech savvy enough to use card skimming methods when stealing from ATMs.

An ATM in a west Denpasar minimarket was broken into early on Monday morning.

The ATM was reportedly emptied of Rp 117 million in denominations of Rp 50k.

A witness told local newspaper Tribun Bali that the minimarket had closed on Sunday at 11 pm. The next morning, at around 6:20 am, the door to the minimart found already open, with the padlock missing and broken glass from the storefront.

Police are still investigating the ATM break-in by searching for witnesses around the scene and checking for CCTV footage, according to reports.
