Tigerair Australia’s Bali flights cancelled, prompted by tougher Indonesian ‘administrative requirements’

Travelers who have flights on Tigerair Australia to and from Bali today have had wrench thrown in their travel plans as new administrative requirements from the Indonesian government have apparently forced the budget carrier to cancel flights.

The airline published an update on the travel alerts section of their website on Wednesday, explaining the situation—but of course, not going into too great of detail.

Several flights were cancelled on Wednesday to Denpasar Bali “following a decision by the Indonesian government to impose new administrative requirements for the operation of its flights between Bali and Australia,” the site reads, along with a list detailing which flights have been cancelled.

And for passengers booked on return flights from Bali?

Those are currently “under review and update will be made on this website. In the event of further cancellations, customers will be contacted proactively by Tigerair Australia,” according to Tigerair’s site.

“Tigerair is working with the relevant Indonesian authorities to meet the new requirements and is hopeful of having flights up and running again as soon as possible.”

Other than that, nothing been said yet about what exactly these requirements are.

Meanwhile, all other domestic Tigerair flights remain affected, according to the airline.

If you’ve booked travel with Tigerair to and from Bali, you best keep an eye on their travel alerts. The airline says it will contact affected passengers directly with their options.
