Green School is a private, international school located in Abiansemal, Badung, that true to its name is very sustainability-driven. The school notably has proposed an installation of a 10kW solar photovoltaic system and a battery bank from used mobile phone and laptop batteries with a capacity of 32kWh. This proposed project would lower the school’s carbon emissions by 22 tons per year and would also reduce the school’s utility costs, according to UAE’s the National. Students will play a huge role in the plan, working on the system’s power production, storage and distribution, battery technologies, and project management.
