Perth bros walk free after alleged Canggu public urination and glassing

The two Australian brothers who made headlines this weekend for allegedly drunkenly peeing in public and glassing a local restauranteur will not rot in Kerobokan as some of us predicted.

Overnight, Tim and Scott O’Hehir from Perth were released from prison, after reportedly coming to some sort of agreement with Wayan Mudipa, their alleged victim, according to Australia’s 9News

Mudipa, who is the owner of Apa Kabar Restaurant in Canggu alleges that things got violent on Friday night when he confronted drunken brothers Scott, 32 for urinating on a sanggah (Balinese place for praying) near his restaurant and Tim, 27, for urinating in a nearby shop he owns.

Accoridng to Mudipa, Tim allegedly hit him in the head and grabbed his neck, while Scott moments later smashed a beer bottle into his forehead, resulting in injuries to his hands, face, and head.

The brothers, who Mudipa claims laughed at him when he confronted him for urinating on his property, reportedly offered restitution, but Mudipa refused, reports the West Australian

“I want to apologize to Mr. Wayan on behalf of myself and my brother and I would also like to apologize to Mr. Wayan’s family, the island of Bali and the entire Indonesian archipelago for the trouble that we’ve caused,” Scott said, as quoted by the West Australian.

“We would like to say that as a result of this matter we now consider ourselves friends and we would like to catch up next time we come to Bali,” Scott added, to our shock. Friends, really? Catch up over a kopi Bali about that time they allegedly disrespected Mudipa by urinating on a temple and glassing him?

The brothers are expected to cut their vacation in Bali short and return to Perth today, escaping a reported four year prison term.
