Heavy downpour means flooding in Denpasar, Bali streets

Unlike last year’s confusing on-again off-again rainy season, this year’s musim hujan has left little room for ambiguity, with comparatively consistent rainfall.

The downpour this week has been an excellent reminder of what many of us have forgotten in our time of dry season comfort—rainy season means flooding!

Already questionable sewage systems get clogged with garbage (yum!) leaving the water with nowhere to go, but pool up and create tributaries.

There have been quite the collection of photos coming from Denpasar netizens documenting the epic banjir (flooding).

Oh, and besides flooding, don’t forget the dangers of falling trees!
