‘Bali suitcase killing’ couple scheduled for transfer to Bali’s infamous Kerobokan Prison

The young couple accused of stuffing Sheila von Weise-Mack into a suitcase after murdering her at the St. Regis in Bali in August 2014 are now being transferred to Bali’s infamous Kerobokan Prison. The move scheduled for today will bring them closer to their first court appearance, reports the Daily Mail

Police interrogations of the two suspects are reportedly finished and papers have been handed to the prosecution, so Heather Mack, 19 and boyfriend Tommy Schaefer, 21 can move from police prisons.

The couple is expected to be charged with premeditated murder for killing Mack’s mother in their St. Regis suite, which could earn them the death penalty. However, Mack has previously claimed she did not partake in her mother’s murder, only ‘acting like a robot’ and  hiding in the bathroom while Schaefer did the deed. The murder of von Wiese-Mack, a Chicago socialite, has been reported to possibly be motivated by a racial slur against Schaefer

Another factor in all this is that Mack is pregnant, carrying Schaefer’s unborn baby.

Hopefully for the couple, the food in Kerobokan is better than the KFC they allegedly complained about before while in jail (though most likely not).
