Ellis Murder UPDATE: suspects unsuccessfully wield machete and poison arrows to resist arrest

You just can’t make this stuff up. Two suspects for Robert Ellis’ grisly murder were reportedly shot in the legs by police when they attempted to evade arrest.

With dramatic flair, suspects allegedly tried to resist arrest with a machete and poison arrows. Props for creativity, but the men’s attempts to thwart the authorities were apparently unsuccessful.

The suspects are two 24-year-old men, with initials UR and DN and police say the arrest action went down in Sumba Island at 5 am this morning.

Police chief Komang Suartana told Australian 9News that Ellis’ murder was a collaboration between Ellis’ wife Julaikah Noor Aini, two of the maids in their villa and one of the maids’ boyfriends. Suspects with initials MT and EJ are reportedly still being hunted for by police

The body of victim, Robert Ellis, 60, was originally found dumped in a rice paddy ditch, wrapped in plastic, with the throat slashed, back on October 21.
