Bali Airport suffers losses of around Rp 42 billion with all the volcano drama: Provincial Tourism Office

All these airport shutdowns in Bali have not been good for business.

Starting from flight cancellations on Nov. 3, losses for Ngurah Rai Airport have reached around Rp 42 billion, Head of Bali Provincial Tourism, Anak Agung Gede Yuniartha Putra, told Merdeka on Monday.

All the Bali travel disruptions from Mt. Barujari’s ash cloud in Lombok is no doubt putting a wrinkle in the province’s goal to get the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali in 2015 up to 4 million

Ngurah Rai A/irport reopened this morning at 6:45 am, but is still on an alerted status. Winds carrying Barujari’s volcano ash are being monitored closely and have even resulted in the cancellation of Jetstar and Virgin Australia flights for the day
