Slain Bali policeman’s identity cards found cut and discarded in Uluwatu area

The identity cards amongst other personal belongings of the murdered Bali policeman were found dumped on the side of the road in Pecatu.

Suspects in police officer Wayan Sudarsa’s bloody murder, Australian Sara Connor and British boyfriend David Taylor, were apparently working to eliminate evidence.

Sudarsa’s body was found on Kuta Beach on August 17, with numerous wounds to the head and neck.

Since being declared a suspect, David Taylor has admitted to bashing Sudarsa over the head with a bottle, while Connor has maintained her innocence in the directly killing of the officer.

When questioned, Taylor reportedly told investigators that he cut up identity cards and hid them after his confrontation with Sudarsa on the beach.

This news comes after police said that Connor had the idea to burn other evidence, like bloodied clothes.

Police apparently brought Taylor back to the area where he said he discarded the cards, but it was a local resident who actually ended up finding the items first.

Sudarsa’s identity card and wallet were found on the side of the road near Angel Mart and Mamo Uluwatu on Jl. Labuan Sait, Suluban, by local resident Agus—a puzzling area to hid evidence as this road leads to Single Fin, which gets a lot of visitors daily.

Agus said he found the evidence on Tuesday afternoon.

“There were a number of drivers and guides who saw the white-colored plastic bag, wrapped in a red plastic bag and put under a pos kamling (security/rest post). Because it seemed strange, people opened it and saw the torn identification cards,” Agus told Tribun Bali on Wednesday morning.

“People there were familiar with the photographs from the plastic bag after seeing the news about the murdered police officer at Kuta Beach.”

All the evidence has since been secured by Denpasar Police.
